The group’s agency, YG Entertainment, announced Friday that all four members — Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo — will be attending an event for the group’s upcoming concert film “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS,” scheduled to be held on Aug. 9 at a CGV theater in Seoul.
“The event will be held against the backdrop of a pink carpet, which is BLACKPINK’s signature color. Celebrating its eighth debut anniversary this year, BLACKPINK plans to visit the event in person to have a closer interaction with the fans,” the agency said.
“As this will be the first time all members of BLACKPINK gather together about 11 months after its World Tour’s finale concert last September, we expect a passionate response (from fans).”
The members will also be visiting the screening theater to meet the audience and introduce the film.
The new film, set to release on Wednesday, will follow the four-piece group’s powerful performances during the final concert of its world tour “BORN PINK” held in Seoul last year.
The finale marked the end of its record-breaking tour, traveling to 34 different countries and holding about 66 concerts with over 1.8 million fans. The K-pop girl group managed to achieve the largest audience on its world tour.
The concert film will be screened exclusively at CGV’s special effects theaters, including ScreenX with its 270-degree panoramic screen, 4DX with motion seats and various effects, and ULTRA 4DX. It will also be released in about 110 countries globally.
The group is also scheduled to hold a private fan event for its fans, known as BLINK, on the day of its debut anniversary on Aug. 8.
The four-piece act debuted in 2016 with the album “Square One” and shot to stardom as YG Entertainment’s first girl group since 2NE1, releasing various hit songs, like “How You Like That” (2020) and “Kill This Love” (2019).
The members renewed their contract with the agency for their girl group activities while signing with separate labels for their individual projects. Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo founded their own labels, and Rose recently signed with The Black Label, a hip-hop label run by producer Teddy.
