It’s a miracle that Mattie is alive today. Just eight weeks old, he has already endured more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. When we received the call about this tiny baby boy, we knew we had to act quickly to save his life.

Mattie was found barely alive, covered in flies and maggots. It was clear that he had been neglected and abused for some time. Upon arrival at the clinic, our vet, Denisa, immediately began treating him. Mattie was put on a life-saving drip and his wounds were cleaned and treated.

Denisa discovered several open wounds on Mattie’s head, where he had been hit, and his tail had been cruelly cut off. One of his eyes had been eaten away by maggots, adding to the pain and trauma he had already experienced. It was heartbreaking to see this innocent little puppy suffering so much.

Over the next few days, Mattie showed incredible resilience and strength as he slowly began to recover. Despite the odds stacked against him, he fought to survive, and with the help of our dedicated veterinary team, he did just that.

It’s amazing to see the transformation in Mattie, from a helpless, injured puppy to a happy, playful little dog. He has a new lease on life and is now living with a loving family who will provide him with all the care and attention he deserves.

Mattie’s story is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is hope. His survival is nothing short of a miracle, and we are grateful to have been a part of his journey to recovery.
